Early Reading Audits
We are delighted that you are interested in accessing support from Mangotsfield English Hub.
Our audits help schools to identify current good practice, highlight areas for development and plan clear, achievable next steps towards excellent phonics teaching.
An audit will offer expert advice and support for eligible schools from one of our Department for Education-trained Literacy Specialists.
The audit process usually lasts one day (depending on size of the school) for which eligible schools can claim £100 for the release of the Reading/Phonics Leader.
What will it involve?
- An initial conversation with the school’s SLT to decide on school priorities including any self-audit information.
- Learning walk with Early Reading/Phonics Leader and SLT to review phonics and reading teaching.
- Considering early reading learning environments and resourcing.
- Discussion with the team on current strengths and areas of development.
- Agreeing an action plan making clear actionable next steps to improve the provision.
- Follow up call post-audit to review progress on the action plan.
